Volcanic Ash Notepads
Description:
“Volcanic Ash Notepads” are visual calendars covering the period from the settlement in Iceland to modern times. They are made with layers of paper in various colours to symbolise the ash layers, or tephra, found in three different areas in Iceland.
The names, Reykjavík, Hekla and Katla tell which area the notepads represent. The layers representing tephra have furthermore the date of the eruption printed on them.
The “Volcanic Ash Notepads” can both be used as normal notepads or seen as small paper sculptures that take the viewer on an informational journey through time.
